GoHighLevel Features Overview

CRM and Pipeline Features
The CRM is the operational core of GoHighLevel. Contacts, leads, and deals all live in a single view. Each contact record holds the call history, SMS threads, emails, pipeline stage, tags, and custom fields in one place. Nothing is split across three tabs.
The CRM supports multiple pipelines, so each client sub-account can run its own sales process. Stages are drag-and-drop. Contacts move automatically on triggers or time delays, and bulk import runs from a CSV. Contact scoring is built in. The weak spot is reporting: dashboards and advanced filtering are thinner than HubSpot's at the same price. If enterprise-grade CRM reporting is the priority, that gap matters. If the job is a working CRM with SMS attached, GoHighLevel wins on total cost.
The GHL Marketplace lists ~300+ pre-built connectors, backed by Zapier and an open API for custom builds. HubSpot carries 1,000+ native integrations. If your stack leans on a long tail of niche tools, confirm GoHighLevel supports them before you commit.
SMS and Email Marketing Features
Two-way SMS ships on every plan through LC-Phone, GoHighLevel's A2P 10DLC-compliant carrier layer built on Twilio. You send outbound campaigns, receive replies, and trigger automations from reply keywords. All of it stays in one inbox view.
SMS bills per segment at ~$0.0079 outbound, where one segment runs 160 characters. An agency sending 2,000 SMS a month spends roughly $16 in usage fees. For clients with large lists and frequent campaigns, those fees climb fast — budget for them before you commit.
Email automation handles conditional branching, time-delay wait steps, and A/B tests on subject lines and send times. Email bills at ~$0.00135 each, so 20,000 sends a month adds about $27. The visual workflow builder is functional — not as intuitive as ActiveCampaign's for complex logic, but fine for most agency automation patterns.
Funnel Builder and Landing Pages
The funnel builder is a drag-and-drop page editor. It handles multi-step opt-in funnels, order bump pages, upsell flows, and membership-gated content. For most agency work it replaces ClickFunnels at $97/mo, and because it's already in the plan fee, one subscription drops off the stack.
The honest caveat: the page builder isn't as polished as dedicated funnel tools. Pixel-level design control is limited next to Webflow or the ClickFunnels 2.0 editor. For straightforward lead-gen pages and service funnels, it's good enough. For clients who need complex interactive design, plan on a dedicated tool alongside it.
GoHighLevel AI Features
GoHighLevel rolled out two AI tools across 2025-2026. Both bill per usage on top of the base plan fee:
AI Conversation
An automated chatbot that fields inbound SMS and chat, qualifies leads, books appointments, and escalates to a human on custom triggers. Cost scales with message volume — budget $10-$40/mo for a typical deployment across multiple client sub-accounts.
AI Content Writer
Generates email copy, SMS messages, and funnel content inside the GoHighLevel editor. It bills at ~$0.09 per 1,000 words, so light usage stays under $10/mo. Useful for first drafts — the output needs a human pass before it reaches clients.
The AI tools are functional, not best-in-class against standalone alternatives. If AI content generation is a core use case, a dedicated tool like Jasper produces better output. If the goal is AI wired into existing GHL workflows, it earns its keep at the per-use price.
White-Label and Agency Features
The white-label system is what separates GoHighLevel from a generic CRM. On the Unlimited plan ($297/mo), you strip all GoHighLevel branding from client-facing portals and present the platform as your own agency software — your logo, your domain, your colors. Clients see your brand, not GHL's.
GHL Snapshots are pre-built templates — funnels, automation sequences, pipelines, and SMS templates — that clone to any client sub-account in seconds. An agency builds one proven workflow for a plumbing client, saves it as a Snapshot, then deploys it to the next 20 plumbing clients without rebuilding. Agency Pro ($497/mo) adds SaaS Mode, which lets you set your own pricing and resell GoHighLevel as your branded SaaS product. For the full agency-specific breakdown, see GoHighLevel for marketing agencies.
Features Not Included in GoHighLevel
Most GoHighLevel features pages skip this section. We don't. GoHighLevel is built for marketing agencies and service businesses. It replaces your marketing stack, not your back office. Here are the gaps:
- No native ecommerce. GoHighLevel can run a simple product order page through Stripe, but it isn't built for Shopify-level catalogs, inventory management, or complex checkout flows.
- No accounting or invoicing. GHL is not a practice management system. Time tracking, billing, and accounting need a separate tool such as QuickBooks or FreshBooks.
- No project management. There's no Asana or Monday.com equivalent. Task management inside GHL is basic — not built for complex agency project workflows.
- HIPAA compliance requires an add-on. Standard GoHighLevel accounts are not HIPAA-compliant by default. Healthcare practices should verify the add-on's scope with GoHighLevel before signing up.
- Fewer integrations than HubSpot. GoHighLevel carries ~300+ marketplace integrations against HubSpot's 1,000+. If your stack includes niche SaaS tools, confirm compatibility before switching.
